Fundays are short day trips to interesting locations around Western Pennsylvania. Many of these are probably familiar to you, but many might be places you didn’t know even existed. Visiting these locations won’t cost you a fortune (if anything) and are within a reasonable distance for a day trip. Another fun feature is if you can’t make it to these locations, you can always stop here and view the photos!  Click on the photos to view the galleries.

Carrie Furnace
Carrie Furnace is a former blast furnace located along the Monongahela River in the Pittsburgh area industrial town of Swissvale, Pennsylvania, and it had formed a part of the Homestead Steel Works. The Carrie Furnaces were built in 1884 and they operated until 1982.
